Luanshya Magistrate John Mbuzi has set 7th November as date for mention and commencement of trial in a matter where two United Party for National Development Leaders are facing charges of unlawful assembly and seditious practices.
This is after Mr. Hakainde Hichilema and his Vice president for administration Mr. Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba appeared for mention this morning.
The matter could not take place as state advocates informed the Court that they had not received instructions from the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions over the same.
Police officers hounded Mr. Hichilema and Mr. Mwamba out of Luanshya district after the Court session.
The duo were not even allowed to shake hands with their members, who went to offer solidarity within the Court premises saying it amounted to an illegal assembly.
Hichilema has since called on all his members and sympathizers across the country and beyond to remain strong as they seek justice, good governance and economic emancipation for a better Zambia.
