The Ministry of Gender and Child development is in the process of giving out 18 tractors in Northern and Muchinga provinces to enhance agriculture production.
16 of the 18 tractors will be given as grants to various farmer groups in Northern Province while 2 will be given to groups in Mpika district.
Gender Minister Victoria Kalima is expected to officially handout the tractors before the end of the year.
The beneficiary farmer groups are from 9 districts namely Mungwi, Senga, kasama, kaputa, Mbala, Mporokoso, Luwingu, Chilubi and mpika.
And over 27,000 farmers in Kasama district of Northern Province will benefit from the farmer input support program.
Kasama is one of the 39 districts in the country where the electronic-voucher system will be used to dispense agricultural inputs for the 2016 and 2017 farming season.
