Former National Team Coach George Lwandawina has resigned as Zesco United Coach and the Club has accepted his resignation which was submitted to the Club this morning.
Lwandawina joined the club in 2014 and has won two league titles, one Barclays’ Cup, Charity Shield and guided the club to the 2016 edition of the caf champion’s league semi-finals.
Club Media Officer Katebe Chengo said that Assistant Coach Tenant Chembo has been appoint as acting head Coach until the end of the season.
He has been linked with a move to Tanzanian side Yanga Africa football club but he refused to comment on the matter when pressed at Edwin Imboela stadium where his side lost to Nkhwazi Football Club.
Lwandawina last game in charge ended in a 3-2 loss to Nkana Football Club at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
Nkana were without a win in 15 super league meetings with Zesco United, having recorded 10 defeats and 5 draws.
