Swedish Ambassador to Zambia Henrik Cederin has pledged to collaborate with local concern parties from different fields to realize the benefits of freedom of speech.
Mr. Cederin was speaking yesterday during the occasion to celebrate 250th anniversary of the enactment of the Swedish Freedom of the press act which was signed on 2ND December 1766.
He said that Zambia should follow its own path to free and independent media based on a compact between citizens and the institutions of society.
Meanwhile out of 54 Countries on the African Continent there are 21 Countries that have enacted the freedom of the press act.
In the southern African region, it is Only Angola, Botswana, Mozambique and South Africa and Partially Zimbabwe that have enacted the access to information act.
