National Union For Small Scale Farmers Of Zambia Director General Dr Frank Kayula has called on the Water Resource and Management Authority to be consultative when carrying out their mandate.
The Water Management Authority has set 31st December, 2016 as deadline for farmers with water facilities on farms to register failure to which sanctions will be taken.
This follows a request from The Zambia National Farmers Union to allow farmers with unregistered water facilities to comply with the law given that most farmers had missed the advert by the government in 2015.
And Dr Kayula has expressed ignorance on the deadline issued by the authority saying most of their members are not aware.
Registration fee for each dam or water structure is 500 kwacha and the amnesty by The Water Authority is only valid up to the end of this year 2016.
