Vendors trading From Lusaka’s Kulima Tower Bus Station Stormed The Civic Centre this morning seeking a clarification on whether a Foreign Company has been engaged to run the Station, a Claim Denied by the Council.

5fm Radio Understands That a Company yet to be established will be collecting levies on behalf of the Council from vendors a similar pattern where “Parkrite” is levying motorists parking in the Central Business District.

The vendors from various political parties with the majority donning Patriotic Front regalia were seeking to be addressed by Council management over the matter.

Patriotic front Councillor for Independence Ward 14 in Lusaka Central Constituency George Daka had a tough time trying to convince the vendors to leave the Civic Centre.

Mr. Daka later told 5fm Radio that he was not aware of the happenings at the Council despite being a civic Leader within the Constituency.

It has also been established that the Vendors are against the move by Parkrite’s decision to ban them from selling on parking lots which they have used as stands for a over period of time.

Lusaka Mayor Wilson Kalumba promised to respond to the concerns of the Vendors.
