The Germany Government has Committed to provide to the Zambian Government a New amount of 97.5 Million Euros for Bilateral Technical Cooperation and Financial Cooperation for the Period 2016 – 2018.
This was During Inter-Governmental Negotiations on Development Cooperation which took Place on 7th and 8th of December, 2016 in Berlin Yesterday.
Thus the Total Volume of Funding Available for Technical and Financial Cooperation Projects and Programmes in 2015 and 2016 Totals 124.5 Million Euros.
Mr. Gunke Nooke, the German Chancellor’s Personal Representative for Africa Commended Zambia on its Long-Standing Record of Peacefulness, Freedom of Religion and the Hospitality Towards Refugees from Neighbouring Countries.
Secretary To The Treasury, Mr. Fredson Yamba Acknowledged with Profound Gratitude Germany’s continued support to Zambia in Various Spheres of the Economy and Expressed his wish for Deepened and Broadened Cooperation in the Future.
Both Delegations also Shared the View that the Negative Impacts of Climate Change pose a Severe Threat to the Future of Zambia’s Economic Development and the Welfare of the Zambian People.
This Particularly Applies to the Availability and Managment of Water Resources, the Generation of Hydro-Energy and the Development of the Agricultural Sector.
