Public hearing on the Commission of inquiry on the voting pattern and Electoral violence will start sitting on the 19 to the 21 December, 2016.

Mutendere and Chawama, Matero townships, Chongwe, Luangwa, Kafue will be covered within the same period.

President Edgar Lungu appointed the Commission to probe the voting pattern in the General Elections Conducted from 2006 to 2016.

Commission Chairman Justice Munalula Lisimba said that all political party leaders are free to make submissions and there will be protected from any victimization.


The first sittings will be held at Lusaka’s civic centre, Nakatindi Hall from 9 hours to 18 hours with a possibility to extend the hearing depending on the number of people submitting evidence.

Justice Lisimba has therefore called upon the general public to make submissions.

He said that members of the Public are free to make submissions in their language of Choice either in English or Local Language whichever they prefer or are comfortable with.


The Commission will collect both oral and written submissions from stakeholders and the general public in all the 10 provinces beginning with Lusaka, the Capital City.
