The Chamber of Mines, says power utilities in developing African countries like Zambia need to be reformed, as they are generally inefficient, and have failed to invest in new power generation capacity.

This is according to an article published today on the Chamber of Mines website www.miningforzambia.com and Monitored by 5fm Radio.

It says reforms should not just be aimed at achieving financial efficiency of utilities…but must target such outcomes as affordable tariffs, increased access to electricity and improved quality of service.
