The Controversial Tedworthy Properties which were allegedly Owned by Late President Dr Fredrick Chiluba Valued at 40 Million Kwacha have been Forfeited to the State after a 15 Years Court Battle.

in 2002, the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) Instituted Investigations into Suspected Corruption in the manner Tedworthy Properties Incorporated Limited, A Company Incorporated in Panama, acquired Properties in Zambia.

The Properties in Question are Plot Number 4828 Alberg Court, Located along Addis Ababa Drive, Longacres, which Comprises 21 Residential Flats.

The Second Property is Plot Number F/488A/26/C, Horizon House Located along Leopards Hill Road, in Kabulonga.

Third Property is Plot Number F/488A/26/26/D, Chibote House located along Leopards Hill Road in Kabulonga.

Commission Public Relations Manager, Timothy Moono told a Media Briefing that during Investigations, it was Established that the Properties were being Managed by Local Property Managers namely Access Financial Services Limited and S.P Mulenga and Associates.


Mr Moono said after a lengthy Court process, the Supreme Court on 29th December 2016 delivered its Judgement allowing the Appeal with Costs to the State.

Mr Moono said the said Properties have been on Rent to Various Tenants from the Time the Commission Seized them and the Rentals have been kept by the Commission Pending the Outcome of the Court Proceedings.

He said the Rentals Accrued so far Amount to Over 14 Million Kwacha; Over 4 Million Kwacha in the Kwacha Account and Over 1.2 Million Dollars in the Dollar Account.

Mr Moono said the Import of the Judgment of the Supreme Court is that these Properties and the Money have been Forfeited to the State.

He stated that the Matter has Admittedly taken Long to reach Conclusion.
