FIFA will Send a delegation to Football Association of Zambia Ordinary Council to deal with all Constitutional Amendments, which will include a reduction Of Electoral College from the Current 350 to about 80.
This has been necessitated following fears that the reduction of the Electoral College will disadvantage FAZ members as they will not be catered for under the decentralized structures, a position the Andrew Kamanga executive has refuted.
Constitutional amendments will have to be undertaken by 30th March 2017.
Association Deputy General Secretary Lombe Mbalashi has also told 5FM RADIO in an emailed statement that fifa will organize a Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa in February this year.
At the summit the Football Association of Zambia will make a presentation to 15 countries including Turkey, Sweden and a few from Cosafa on plans for Youth and Women’s football.
Former National Team Coach Honour Janza is set to become the Coach for Super League side Red Arrows; this follows a request made to the Football Association of Zambia by the Army sponsored side.
Association Deputy General Secretary Lombe Mbalashi has since engaged FIFA to look for a replacement of Janza as a Technical Director at Football House.
Janza was attached to the association by FIFA to provide technical assistance for football development in Zambia.
In the meantime, Football Administrator Marcha Chilemena has praised fifa for passing a motion to expand the World Cup to 48 from 32 teams.
The 2026 World Cup will have a format of 16 groups of three nations and it is expected to increase the slot for African nations to 9 from the current 5 slots for a Continent of 54 Nations.
