United Nations Special Rapporteur on Right to Food Hilal Elver has noted that despite availability of Food in Zambia access to Food remains a Challenge in the Country.


United Nations Special Rapporteurs are Independent experts appointed by the Human Rights Council to Examine and Report back on a Country situation or Specific Human Rights issues.


Elver noted that people in most Rural parts of the Country only afford one Meal, adding that Statistics on Poverty remain too high, While Social Protection intervention do not Accommodate the Majority Poor.


She also noted that in view of this, Government Commitment to Stimulate Agriculture Productivity, Zambians risk becoming Squatters in the Own Country.
