Human Rights Commission Chairperson Mudford Mwandenga has Revealed that working in Collaboration with the Law Development Commission, progress has been made to Enforce Legislation that will Criminalise Torcher.

 

Mr Mwandenga regrets that the Police have continued to Inflict Torcher on Suspects and persons in Detention, a move he said must be Addressed Adequately.

 

He has Emphasised the need to Uphold Human Rights of Prisoners in line with Domestic International Legislations that bind the Country to do so.

 

Speaking during a Panos Institute For Southern Africa Media Training on Prisoners Rights in Lusaka this Morning (THURSDAY), Mr Mwandenga regrets that Prisons remain Over  crowded, thereby impacting negatively on the wellbeing of inmates.
