Former North Western Province Minister Dawson Kafwaya has arrested and Charged for Abuse of Office Involving 30,000 Kwacha  by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

 

Mr Kafwaya, who is Based in Solwezi District was arrested and Charged with One Count of Obtaining Goods by False Pretenses and One Count of Altering of a False Document.

 

In the First Count it is alleged that Mr Kafywaya in his Capacity as Provincial Minister of North-Western Province, Jointly and Whilst acting together with others did by False Pretenses Obtain 6,000 Building Blocks Worth 30,000 Kwacha from Mei Mei Company Limited.  

 

He Purported that they were to be used as a Donation for the Construction of a Classroom Block for Mutanda High School but the Blocks were Diverted and used them to Construct his House in Solwezi.

 

In the Second Count, it is Alleged that Mr Kafyaya Altered a False Document Namely a Receipt and Uttered it to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Claiming it Originated from the Institution that is Alleged to have Issued it When in Fact Not.

 

Commission Public Relations Manager Timothy Moono Confirmed to 5fm Radio that Mr Kafyaya has been Released on Bond and will Appear in the Solwezi Subordinate Court Soon.
