The reward to informers that may lead to arrest of any person behind activities of cutting Zambia Electricity Supply Cooperation pylons have been increased to 300, 000 kwacha from 100, 000 kwacha.
This is according to Zambia Police Spokeswoman, Mrs. ESTHER KATONGO, who issued a statement to 5FM RADIO today.
Inspector General of Police, KAKOMA KANGANJA, yesterday, stated that they were offering 100, 000 kwacha to anyone who may have information.
And Mr. KANGANJA also indicated that motor vehicles will now be stopped randomly for thorough searches at snap security check points.
Late last month suspected vandals brought down two Zesco pylons on the 330-kilovolt transmission line running from Kafue west to the Lusaka west substation via the South Multi-Facility Economic Zone.
Zesco spent about 1.1 million United States dollars to repair the pylons.
