A Zambian Catholic Priest based in Pretoria, South Africa, Father Harrison Mulenga has been involved in a near-fatal road traffic accident.

Father Mulenga was involved in a head-on-collision with another Vehicle on the Beyers Naude Road in Honeydew Johannesburg after the other motorist failed to obey the traffic lights signals.

 

Father Mulenga, who was travelling with two other Catholic Brothers has since been Admitted to Hellen Joseph Hospital surgical ward Johannesburg where he remains in a Critical condition.

 

According to the Catholic Church Provincial Supervisor Father David Kalyoshi, Father Mulenga sustained a broken leg, fractured Upper Nose and Minor Brain Injuries.

 

Two of his Colleagues have since been Discharged from Hospital following Intensive Medical Examinations.

 

The Accident happened around 20 Hours Zambian Time when the Trio was Returning to their Congregation at Sacred Stigmata from celebrating Mass at Another Catholic Congregation North of Johannesburg

 

And Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa Mr Emmanuel Mwamba has expressed sadness to learn that a prominent Zambian among the community was injured.

 

He said Dr Harrison Mulenga is close to the Zambians among the community attending all functions and celebrating Weddings and officiating at Funerals involving Zambians.
