The Opposition Green Party Of Zambia is demanding that before the BANK OF ZAMBIA hand over INTERMARKET BANK to shareholders, the recapitalized bank must first pay-off all depositors of the closed bank.

The established board of directors will from Monday next week hold a public hearing in Lusaka before moving to the Copperbelt province to provide direction on the re-opening of the bank.

But GREEN PARTY OF ZAMBIA Leader PETER SINKAMBA says there is no guarantee that the proposed bank Zambia Industrial Cooperative Bank will not go under like Inter-Market Bank.

Mr. SINKAMBA added that it is unjustifiable for the government and central bank to continue holding on to depositors’ funds any longer which is thereby unfairly stretch their suffering.
