Hellen MWALE has retained the chairpersonship of the Media Institute of Southern Africa-Zambia Chapter at the elective annual general meeting held at Cresta Golf View Hotel in Lusaka yesterday.

Mwale polled 106 votes against her opponent Wilson PONDAMALI who had 35 votes.

The new national governing council comprises of Hyde HAGUTA as vice chairman, Father Barnabas SIMATENDE, Millennium Radio News Editor Martin AKENDE and Veronica MWABA as committee members.

The three committee members went unopposed and they will serve on the Misa Zambia for the first time. The new body will serve for a term of three years.

The Misa Zambia National Governing Council provides policy direction to the strongest media advocacy body’s secretariat thus rendering it a true democratic membership driven organization.
