Lusaka Mayor, Wilson Kalumba, says Road Safety Policy, Infrastructure and Awareness must put in place for all Road Users and Child Pedestrians in Particular.

 

Mr. Kalumba also disclosed that more than a Quarter of People injured and Killed on the Streets are Children, mostly on their way to or from School.

 

This was in a Speech Read on his Behalf by Justine Kabwe Ward Councillor under Mandevu Constituency; Mr. Teddy Mwaba at the Safe and Healthy Journey to School Roundtable in Lusaka this Morning.

 

Speaking at the same Function, Chairman of Zambia Road Safety Trust, Mr. Daniel Mwamba, said Thousands of Children facing Traffic Danger and Polluted Air need a Voice to Speak out for them.

 

Meanwhile, Executive Director of FIA Foundation, Mr. Saul Billingsley, said that Zambia can lead the way in Reducing Road Traffic injuries and Fatalities in Sub-Saharan Africa.
