United Party For National Development (UPND); Chilanga Member of Parliament Keith Mukata has Filed in a Notice of Appeal against his Conviction.
This is According to a Notice of Appeal filed in the Court of Appeal Holden at Lusaka Criminal Jurisdiction.
Mukata Contended that the Learned Trial Judge Erred in Law and Fact When she Convicted him Without his supporting Evidence on Record to support such a Conviction in.
Mukata stated that the Learned Trial Judge Erred in Law and Fact when she Convicted him Based on Circumstantial Evidence which had more than One Inference to drawn there from.
Yesterday (WEDNESDAY) Lusaka High Court Judge Susan Wanjelani Sentenced Mukata to Death after Finding him Guilty of First Degree Murder.
However, Mukata’s Co-Accused Charmaine Musonda was Acquitted on All Charges of Murder.
The Convict Murdered his Security Guard Namakau Kalilakwenda who was Manning his Law Firm on May 6, 2017.
Judge Wanjelani said there was Conflict Between Where the Firearm and Keys of the BMW were Found.
