South African High Commissioner to Zambia Sikoze Mji has Hailed the Zambian Government for taking Precaution Measures by Banning Imports of Foods from South Africa that are at Risk from being Contaminated with the Listeria Bacteria which has Claimed more than 180 Lives in that Country.


The Products in Question Include Processed Meats, Vegetables and Other Dairy Products.


Earlier this Week Minister of Health; Dr Chitalu Chilufya Directed Owners of South African Supermarkets as well as other Chain Stores to Remove from the Shelves the Affected Products.


And Speaking During a Special Interview on 5FM Radio this Morning (WEDNESDAY); High Commissioner Mji Acknowledged the need to Safeguard the Health of the People.


She is however Concerned that the Ban has been Extended to Agricultural Produce.


Namibia, Mozambique and Botswana have also Imposed a Ban on      Food Imports from South Africa.
