Commonwealth Secretary General; Patricia Scotland has Commended Zambia for Enacting the National Health Insurance Law.


Ms. Scotland says the National Health Insurance Scheme is a Key Ingredient in Helping Zambia Achieve Universal Health Coverage.


The National Health Insurance Scheme will Pool Resources that are Key in Implementing various Quality Health Interventions.


She has Congratulated Zambia for being in the Frontline in the Commonwealth Countries’ Quest to Achieve Universal Health Coverage.


Ms. Scotland said this in Geneva; Switzerland Ahead of the 71st World Health Assembly which opens Tomorrow (MONDAY).


Ms. Scotland is however Concerned that so many Young People are Dying Prematurely from Non Communicable Diseases due to Unhealthy Lifestyles.


And Minister of Health; Dr Chitalu Chilufya said Zambia is on Firm Track towards Achieving Universal Health Coverage.
