Unknown people have petrol bombed Republican Progressive Party Lusaka Mayoral Aspirant Lesley Chikuse’s Kamwala business place valued at 200 thousand kwacha to the disappointment of an opposition leader.

And when reached for a comment, Mr. Chikuse explained that a group of young people set ablaze his business in the early hours today in what is perceived as being politically motivated.

He told 5fm radio that this is a set back towards his participation in the mayoral race but he was quick to say that he will not give up.

The commission has set Thursday 26th July, 2018 as the date on which to hold the mayoral elections in Lusaka and council chairpersons’ elections in Chilanga, Chasefu, Chipangali, Kasenengwa, Lumezi, Lusangazi and Chifunabuli districts.

The commission will on the same date hold by-elections in Chachacha, Lwambazi, Kangwena, Kanongesha, Kanyama and Looma Wards.
