Consumer Unity and Trust Society, Centre Coordinator,   Chenai Mukumba, has urged the Government to create market linkages for farmers in this marketing season.

Mukumba has hailed the Food Reserve Agency for settling for a price that is not higher than the prevailing market prices.

The agency will buy a 50 kilogram bag of maize at 65 kwacha under the 2018 crop marketing exercise.

Though this News has not been welcomed by farmers, Mukumba feels the gesture is in line with the Seventh National Development Plans in terms of promoting private sector participation in the Agricultural sector.
