National Democratic Congress Consultant Chishimba Kambwili has shared views of various stakeholders who feel Zambian authorities have mishandled the political asylum issue concerning Zimbabwean politician Tendai Biti.

Mr. Biti is a senior member of the Zimbabwean opposition party the movement for democratic change and yesterday government rejected his request for asylum.

He fled to Zambia after Zimbabwean Police issued an arrest warrant for him, accusing him of inciting violence.

But Chief Government spokes person Dora Siliya justified that Mr. Biti does not qualify for asylum.

Mr. Kambwili says Zambian authorities have abrogated international law by handing back Mr. Biti to Zimbabwean Authorities.

He feels Government should have instead allowed Mr. Biti to exit Zambia for a country of his choice.

Former Information minister Mike Mulongoti also shared similar sentiment.

Green Party Peter Sinkamba also expressed disappointment over the stance taken by the Government.
