Government has disbursed 250 of 409 million kwacha owed to the retirees to the Local authority superannuation fund LASF members.

 

This morning members of the LASF pressure group gathered at superannuation house in Lusaka in a bid to confirm with the management of the fund following the assurance by the ministry of finance that funds were released.

 

Government has accumulated at least one million kwacha arrears for retirees since 2016.

 

LASF retiree’s chairperson Benny Phiri spoke to journalists.

 

In the meantime, the retirees noted with concern over untimely disbursement of funds by the Government.
