As the country commemorates the world diabetes day today, a nutritionist, Serah Sinyangwe has called on the general public to ensure that they constantly seek diabetes screening services from health institutions in order to know whether they have diabetes or not.  

 

In an interview with 5fm News Sinyangwe has stressed that diabetes is a silent killer disease adding that many people die from it without knowing hence, the need to constantly seek diabetes screening services from health institutions.

 

She also encouraged people to attend the world diabetes day which will be held at Kabwata cultural village under the theme, family and diabetes in order to access free diabetes screening services nutrition assessment and education among other things.

 

Further Sinyangwe has also urged people who are diabetic to stick to a balanced diet in order as a way of cushioning the disease.
