The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development has indicated that significant strides are being made towards the preparations of the framework for the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement.

The historic African Free-Trade Zone came into force last week, as the African Union celebrated making one more step toward creating a continent-wide market of 1.2 billion people worth 2.5 trillion United States dollars.

Organization Secretary-General Dr Mukhisa Kituyi observes that once the agreement comes to force, it will make it easier for the countries that will ratify the agreement to boost their economies.
