Anti-Voter Apathy Project (AVAP) Executive Director, Richwell Mulwani has Regretted the Failure by the Patriotic Front (PF) Administration to Table the Political Parties’ Bill before Parliament.
The Objectives of the Bill are to Provide for Registration and Regulation of Political Parties, and the Establishment of a Political Parties Fund.
In August this Year, Justice Minister, Given Lubinda said there was need to Introduce the Bill especially that Zambia does not have a Specific Law which Prescribes Government Funding of Political Parties or Regulation of Campaign Funding.
And Mr Mulwani said the Political Parties Bill when Enacted into Law will be the Country’s Cornerstone of Democracy.
He has Told 5FM Radio that for a Very Long Time, the Country has not had a Political Party Law that helps Political Parties Enhance their Democracy.
