Center for Trade Policy and Development(CPTD) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the University of Zambia (UNZA) aimed at expanding the educational and training cooperation between the two institutions.
The training will particularly focus in the area of geology, mining engineering and metallurgy and mineral processing as well as social economic issues related to mining.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, UNZA Vice-Chancellor Professor Luke Mumba believes that cooperation’s between the two intuitions will enhance the efforts of the global community to support training and research in various aspects of mining.
And CTPD, Board Chairperson Isaac Mundia says the MOU could not have come at a better time when the country is grappling with great uncertainty following the proposed changes in the mineral tax regime.
