The National Union of Public and Private Educators of Zambia-NUPEZ has appealed to the Examination Council of Zambia to pay allowances to teachers who participate in marking the examinations on time.

In an interview with 5fm News, Union National Secretary Nelson Mwale says teachers get frustrated and do not put in their best performance if they are not awarded accordingly.

Yesterday the 2018 Grade 12 Examinations Results were announced indicating a 63.44 percent pass rate recording a decrease of 1.40 percent from the 64.84 in 2018 notes that the need for timely and predictable payment of exam markers cannot be overemphasized.
