Minister of General Education David Mabumba says Central Province has the highest numbers of centres involved in the 2018 examination leakage scandal as he announced that the examinations will resume on Thursday, October 31.
Mabumba said following investigations 77 examination centers countrywide were found to have tampered with the envelopes of the 2018 Mathematics Paper 2 papers.
“77 Examination centers tampered with the envelopes of the 2018 Mathematics Paper 2 papers and some of them attempted to seal the envelopes with super glue or other adhesive materials. The highest numbers are in Central, Southern, Western and Copperbelt provinces,” Mabumba said.
“There is an observation that the mushrooming tuition centers in most parts of the country have caused more hard than good as they are a conduit to leakages and examination malpractices,” he added.
The minister said fresh examination papers would will be printed for the examinations countrywide.
