The Governance, Elections, Advocacy Research Services (GEARS) Initiative says unless the leaders of the opposition alliance of more than ten political parties exhibit management and leadership skills, it will be difficult to sustain the pact up to 2021 general elections.
Recently People’s Alliance for Change President Andyford Banda was kicked out of the alliances for allegedly undermining the objectives and aspirations of the group.
GEARS Initiative Executive Director McDonald Chipenzi has told 5fm News that it is not an easy task for the alliance to harmonize the views, interests and the desires of its individual members.
Chipenzi has however noted that the leadership skills of the opposition alliance members will prove strong if the alliance remains intact up to 2021 and beyond.
