Failure to timely pay social cash transfer funds to beneficiaries is impacting negatively on their livelihoods.
The total funding towards the Social Cash Transfer currently stands at about 552 million Kwacha of which government funds 414 million kwacha, about 75 percent and donors are about 138 million kwacha which is 25 percent in a program implemented the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services.
It covers 700, 000 beneficiary households, translating to about 4.2 million individuals benefiting from the scheme.
Currently, 90 Kwacha per household and is paid bi-monthly at 180 kwacha, households of members with disabilities receive a double amount of k180.00 per month, which is 360 kwacha bi-monthly.
