Ahead of the commemoration of the 2019 International Day of the African child on Sunday 16th June 2019 Government has been reminded of the necessity to prioritize children needs.
This year the “day of an African child” will be marked under the theme “children rights first”
The Jesuits Centre For Theological Reflections and the Civil Society for Poverty Reduction have noted the necessity to address needs such as access to drinking nutritious food shelter, health including safe water and sanitation.
Speaking during a Media Briefing in Lusaka this morning C-S-P-R Programs Officer Eddy Musosa called on Government to conduct a child-focused performance analysis as part of the mid-term review of the 7th national development plan from a program perspective and also from a budget or financing aspect over the last two years.
Meanwhile, Civil Society Scaling Up Nutrition Alliance monitoring and Evaluation Leader Jessica Mayenda notes the need to strengthen commitment towards combating malnutrition.
