GOVERNMENT URGED TO DEAL WITH CORRUPT AGRO-DEALERS

NUSFAZ

By Christopher Chisi

The National Union for Small-Scale Farmers of Zambia (NUSFAZ) has called on the government to deal with agro-dealers who are in a habit of swindling farmers their farming inputs.

Preliminary findings carried by agriculture-based organizations on the implementation of the Farmers Input Support Program during the 2018-2019 farming season revealed that some agro-dealers were selling expired seeds to farmers.

Dr Frank Kayula says this is unfortunate and has since stressed the need for government to take a proactive approach in curbing the vice.
