GOVT ADVISED TO DEFER THE NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE SCHEME

Government has been advised to further defer the deduction of contributions towards the national health insurance scheme until civil servants are given a meaningful salary increment. 

 

the Civil Servant and Allied Workers Union of Zambia regrets that amidst the high cost of living, implementing the national health insurance scheme will reduce work’s spending power hence making it impossible to meet their needs.   

 

In an interview with 5fm News, Union President David Chiyobe adds that Government must create a balanced platform which will facilitate for stakeholder consultation to enable efficient enforcement of the scheme.
