Secretary to the Cabinet Dr Simon Miti has disclosed that government losing over 5 Billion Kwacha in compensation to litigants.
Dr Miti has since urged the Civil Service Commission to ensure that matters of discipline in the civil service are appropriately exhausted to avoid litigation against the government.
Dr Miti has also expressed concern over the quality of Degrees among civil servants which he said do not meet the required competencies thereby calling for the re-introduction of Civil Service entry Examinations to ensure efficient delivery in the Civil Service.
Dr Miti said this when Civil Service Commission paid a courtesy at his office to brief him on the Commission’s preparedness to host the Association of African Public Services Commissions Conference slated for the 29th to 30th August 2019.
Meanwhile, Civil Service Commission Chairperson Dickson CHASAYA said the Commission will implement the directives of the Secretary to the Cabinet so as to bring about efficiency and effectiveness in the Civil Service.
