The government will engage the Department of National Parks and Wildlife to consider the re-relocation of Buffaloes to other national parks due to the increasing population of the animals in the South Luangwa National Park.

The Luangwa ecological area has an excess of 13 thousand Buffaloes, a situation which initially called for the canning of 2000 of the animals in 2016 but has to date been suspended by the cabinet.

Tourism and Arts Minister Ronald Chitotela says transferring some of the Buffaloes to other ecological areas will help attract tourists in other parts of the country.
