The Lusaka Magistrate Court has again delayed ruling in a matter where the opposition United Party for National Development had asked the state to respond to a number of preliminary issues.
Lawyers representing MR. HAKAINDE HICHILEMA are seeking answers from state prosecutors on why the Zambia Police at Lilayi Police Training College allowed a Pastor to visit the opposition Leader at midnight.
They also want state prosecutors to tell the court what manner of tortured was inflicted on MR. HICHILEMA and his five co-accused persons.
Today’s court proceedings regarding this matter was marred with constant breaks as UPND Lawyers complained of Police intimidation both in the Court and outside.
Magistrate GREENWELL MALUMANI has since set 26th April, 2017 as the date for ruling and MR. HICHILEMA has remained in custody at Lusaka Central Prison.
