Former Zambia Association of Musicians President Njoya Tembo has told 5fm News that poor enforcement of the law on the implementation of the Hologram has contributed the program failing to safeguard the plight of artists in the country.
The government announced plans in 2005 to affix a hologram, a security feature on audio-visual products in a bid to certify the originality of the works and curb the problem of piracy.
The hologram project has been implemented by The Zambia Music Copyright Protection Society since the year 2013 and 1 billion kwacha was spent to procure the Holograms.
And Mr. Tembo who is a renowned Zambian Gospel artist notes with concern that despite spending huge sums of money to purchase the hologram musicians have not benefited.
