A Lusaka based Economist, Chibamba Kanyama has expressed concern that Zambia risks losing out the market for its products if the current political situation in the neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo continues.
According to the Zambia Development Agency, the DRC provides the largest consumer market for Zambian goods owing to its proximity, which reduces transportation costs.
On Monday this week election officials in DRC said voters will have to wait another week for the preliminary results of the presidential election a situation which is attracting concerns from the international community.
Kanyama has told 5fm News that the political stability in DRC is crucial for the wellbeing of Zambia.
