Limited innovations on storage facilities for perishable products such as tomatoes and avocados is negatively impacting traders at Lusaka’s Soweto market as most of the products end up being rotten.

Traders dealing with fresh produce have underscored the need for stakeholders that are into providing storage facilities for vegetables and fruits to take their services closer to them.

They further say enhancing storage services for commodities in the markets will contribute to the growth of fruits and vegetable markets that will lead to poverty eradication as most of the vulnerable citizens’ trade in such commodities.
