President Edgar Lungu has challenged local authorities to find adequate alternative ways of revenue collection and ensure prudent use of public resources.
President Lungu says there is a need for public workers to service the people first and put their personal interests aside.
The head of state says local authorities need to invest in building a smart Zambia which will allow the efficient delivery of services.
And local government minister Vincent Mwale says the Government is committed to creating an enabling business environment for all 116 local authorities.
Meanwhile, the Local Government Association of Zambia president Christopher kang’ombe has stressed the need for local authorities across the country to utilize information and communication technologies as this will help them collect sufficient revenue from sources.
