LUSAKA TO BE SUBJECTED TO LOAD-SHEDDINGLusaka Residents must brace themselves with loadshedding for the next two months as Zesco begins maintenance works at the Leopard’s Hill Sub-station.
“Beginning tomorrow the 27th September to 9th December, 2018 selected residential areas of Lusaka District will be subjected to increased Load management also known as Loadshedding due to ongoing works of replacing old equipment with new ones at Leopard’s Hill Sub-Station”.
Zesco Spokesman, Henry KAPATA, has told 5fm News that works at the Sub-Station started in 2017 and so far 85 percent of old equipment have been replaced with new equipment aimed at improving Service delivery.
He explained that Loadshedding will be done interchangeably within the City further adding that at no time will the entire City be without power.
“We shall certainly advise our customers on the switching off pattern, there will be no time we shall switch off the entire city of Lusaka, it will done interchangeably, today it is Lilayi, tomorrow it is Matero until the 9th of December, 2018 before Christmas” narrated Mr. Kapata.
“Members of the public should not relate this loadshedding to water levels in the Kariba dam, it is all about maintenance works, and we did that on the Copperbelt province two month ago, though there were an uproar among residents but now the situation is back to normal supply” he said.
