Operation Young Vote has Demanded that Minister of Higher Education, Professor Nkandu Luo Reverses the Decision to Remove 5 University of Zambia (UNZA) Students from Government Sponsorship and Allow them an Opportunity to be Heard.
On Thursday this Week Professor Luo Removed 5 UNZA Students from Government Bursary for Participating in a recent Riot as a Result of a Ten Minute Power Cut at the Higher Learning Institution.
But Operation Young Vote Executive Director, Guess Nyirenda has told 5FM Radio that the Alleged Unilateral Decision by Professor Luo to Remove the Five UNZA Students from Government Sponsorship is appalling and an Act Of Abuse of Authority and Office and Total Infringement of Human Rights and Right to Education.
Meanwhile, the University of Zambia has urged the Five Suspended Students to Leave the Great East Road Campus Immediately.
UNZA Public Relations Manager, Damaseke Chibale says All Students who Participated in Last Saturday’s Riot will be Surcharged.
