More than 1,000 traffic offences were recorded in the second quarter of 2018 recorded in Lusaka.
Road Transport And Safety Agency Public Relations Manager Mukela Mangolwa says among the leading offences include dangerous driving ,expired road tax, expired test certificate ,unlicensed drivers and the use of hand held mobile phones whilst driving.
He said the Lusaka fast track court has secured a total of 949 convictions from the traffic offences recorded.
Meanwhile Mangolwa has disclosed that the agency has secured 36 convictions in the Mansa fast track court on traffic offences in the first week of July, 2018.
He adds that, the agency will sustain its traffic law enforcement programs and continue extending prosecutions of offenders in order to ensure total compliance among motorist as well as providing safety to all road users.
