Ruling Patriotic Front Secretary General, Davies Mwila has dissolved the constituency and district leadership in Mungwi District in Northern Province.
In his letter to Northern Province Chairperson and Luposohi Member of Parliament, Lazarus Bwalya Chungu, dated 18th March 2019, Mwila said the Malole Constituency and Mungwi District committees have been dissolved with immediate effect.
He said the two committees have been held liable for failing to file-in nominations for a candidate in the Mfinshe Ward by-election.
The PF candidate for Mfinshe Ward By-election in Malole Constituency, Mungwi District of Northern Province was unable to file- in his nomination papers on 14th March 2019 and rendering the ward to go the Opposition.
The PF candidate had allegedly left behind some of the documents required by Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ).
The PF secretary general has since placed Vice Council Chairperson, Kelvin Chafilwa to act as Mungwi District Chairperson.
He said new committees at Malole constituency and Mungwi District will be re-constituted.
