Police in Livingstone District in the Southern Province have picked up Dalisto Phiri of Libuyu Compound in connection with the burning of Maramba Cultural Village.
According to Police spokeswoman Esther Mwaata Katongo Mr. Phiri, who is a drummer at the Cultural Village went to warm the drum on the material day but he did not put off the fire which later gutted the premises.
The suspect has been charged with the offence of criminal recklessness and negligence and will appear before Court next week.
Earlier in the week Patriotic Front deputy Spokesman Frank Bwalya alleged that an opposition political party which he did not name was behind incidences of fire that have gutted the Cultural village and Mansa Shoprite.
And Police have offered a reward of 100 thousand kwacha for anyone who will provide information leading to the arrest of people connected to cases of arson happening in the Country.
