THE Police in Luanshya on the Copperbelt, have detained national Democratic Congress Consultant and 2021 Presidential Candidate Chishimba Kambwili for unlawful assembly.
The NDC 2021 presidential candidate has been denied police bond despite meeting all the necessary legal requirements.
Honorary Dr Kambwili’s lawyer Evaristo Mukonka says the NDC leader will appear in the Luanshya magistrates’ court tomorrow.
This was when he went to make a formal complaint on the unprofessional conduct of copper belt police commissioner Charity Katanga.
N-D-C Secretary General Mwenye Musenge believes the move was planned to make the NDC consultant spend a night in police custody.
In the meantime United Party for National Development Leader Hakainde Hichilema has demanded the release of Kambwili, saying political victimization is not good at a time when the country is pursuing national dialogue.
